Sprains and Strains

Sprains and strains are common musculoskeletal injuries that impact
ligaments, muscles, or tendons. A sprain involves stretching or tearing a
ligament, commonly occurring in areas such as the ankle, knee, or wrist. In
contrast, a strain pertains to the overstretching or tearing of muscles or tendons,
with the lower back or hamstrings usually being affected. These injuries often
arise from sudden twists, falls, overexertion, improper lifting techniques, or
lack of proper warm-ups before engaging in physical activities. Sprains and
strains can result in long-term weakness, instability, or recurrent injuries
                                if left untreated.
